Communion is Not Just Juice and Crackers!

星期三, 十月 31st, 2007

By Verona Raymond We do know that it originated from the night Jesus and his disciples were at the Last Supper, the night before Jesus is crucified: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 23For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come When we are receiving the juice and crackers at church, its important to know what communion really is. We are remembering Jesus and giving thanks for our redemption. At the same time we are also embracing the common bond that we share with fellow believers. But the Bible also warns us of participating in communion without knowing Jesus and what this holy tradition really is about: 1 Corinthians 11:27-29 27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lords body. Some Churches have communion on a weekly basis and announce it at the end of the service. In their announcement, they dont even say to the congregation If you are a believer and have given your life to the Lord, receive your communion. They really need to convey this message to their congregation each time that they have communion. There might be new comers there or young children that may not understand what communion really means, that will participate. Remember to not take the real meaning of communion lightly. Rejoice in the Lord and the precious blood he shed on the cross for our sins. And if you have Christ in your heart, then gladly participate in the wonderful holy tradition from the Last Supper called communion. Verona Raymond

Finding a Chicago Moving Company to Do Business With

星期二, 十月 30th, 2007

By Ted Garvin Chicago is an amazing place to live, work, and raise a family. For those reasons, you may be thinking about moving to the area. If so, you may want to examine hiring the services of a professional Chicago moving company. If given the opportunity, many individuals and families would prefer to hire the services of a professional, instead of moving themselves. If you are one of those individuals, you will need to find a Chicago moving company to do business with. When it comes to finding a Chicago moving company, you will find that there are a number of different search methods that you could use. Those search methods should include, but not be limited to, using the internet, your local phone book, or recommendations from those that you know. In addition to using one of the above mentioned search methods, you may want to think about using a combination of them. The more searching you do, the more results you will find. If you already live in or around the Chicago area, you may be able to use a Chicago phone book to find a local moving company. If you do have access to a local phone book, you should look in the back of that phone book. In the back of most phone books, you will find a business directory. Under the heading of movers, you should find the contact information for a number of different Chicago moving companies. That contact information should include a phone number. To inquire about their services and fees, you will want to contact that moving company directly. If you do not have access to a Chicago phone book, you can use the internet to find the same results. The internet can be used a number of different ways. Perhaps, the easiest way to find the contact information of a Chicago moving company is to use an online phone book or an online business directory. The listings found in an online phone book or business directory should contain the same information as the listings found in a traditional phone book. In addition to using an online phone book or online business directory, you should also be able to perform a standard internet search. An online search, with the words Chicago moving company, should provide you with number of different results. Those results may very well lead you to the websites of a number of Chicago moving companies. Those websites are likely to offer information on the company in question. The above mentioned ways are the best ways to find a Chicago moving company to do business with; however, they are not the only search methods that you can use. You may also want to think about asking those that you know. If you know of anyone who has moved to or from the Chicago area, that person may be able to connect you with a reliable and trustworthy Chicago moving company. Whether you search for a Chicago moving company by speaking to those that you know or by using your phone book or the internet, you should be able to find a number of different moving companies. To determine which moving company can offer you the best service, at an affordable price, you are advised to directly contact each company for more information. The Zoo-Doo Man - Or How to Make the Best Compost in the World!

星期一, 十月 29th, 2007

By Jim Kennard Is your garden soil great? Does it produce an abundant crop for you without any great effort on your part? We were once told By the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat thy bread . . , and with several thousand years rain, snow, wind, and crops removing the minerals from the land, we very rarely see fertile ground anymore. So, how do you get your ground to consistently grow a large crop of healthy vegetables there must be a way? Let me tell you some of my experience with this important question. For 15 years I have owned a 3/4 acre parcel adjacent to Utah’s Hogle Zoo, where I have grown a vegetable garden using The Mittleider Method as taught in many of the developing countries around the world by Dr. Jacob R. Mittleider. To receive Dr. Mittleider’s Gardening Basics Course e-book free, visit the Charitable Foundation’s website at www.foodforeveryone.org. During the past 15 years I’ve been privileged to help Dr. M. on a few projects, and recently, with his blessing, conducted some myself, in Armenia, Madagascar, and Turkey. My Zoo garden is always extremely productive, rather nice to look at, and a very popular unofficial “exhibit” with the 700,000+ annual visitors to the zoo. Many people have asked, as they visited over the fence, if I used the zoo animals’ manure, and I always told them no, that I use natural mineral nutrients. But then one day a lady piqued my interest when she said the Seattle Zoo sells their composted animal manure to the public as “Zoo Doo.” I decided to check this out, so I talked to them and found they pile the manure in win-rows, and after about a year, dry, bag, and sell it. I decided I could make a lot better compost than what Seattle got by leaving it out in the rain for a year. So I first bought a Compost Tumbler and learned the best procedures and mixes as I tested small batches, using the manure from 7 of the large herbivores. Very quickly I learned how to maintain the mix at a constant 140+ degree heat, and after 3 weeks I had beautiful, black, sweet-smelling compost. I thought this was great, but there was nowhere near enough compost to take care of my large garden, so I then acquired a 10-yard cement truck and began doing large batches. With loads this size, they maintained temperatures over 140 degrees for 3 weeks, and then cooled down for one week. And You’ve never seen such beautiful material - I really felt like I was making the world’s best compost! I obtained the right to use the Zoo-Doo name, bought bags, T-shirts, banners, cart, etc. and began selling at the Zoo gift shop and in the local nurseries. I ended up on TV and in the newspapers, and became known as “The Zoo-Doo Man.” Whenever I had more than I could sell, I would drive the cement truck down to my garden and off-load the batch over the wall. I then put it into several soil-beds and grew vegetables with it to compare which was better compost or the Mittleider natural mineral nutrients, which Id been using all along. And I grew good stuff with my Zoo-Doo. However, the most important thing I learned in that two-year experiment was not how to make and sell Zoo-Doo. I learned for myself that I could grow better vegetables more consistently, and with a lot less time, cost, and hassle, with a few pounds of inexpensive natural mineral nutrients, than I could with truckloads of the worlds best compost. I therefore continue to use good, clean organic materials when they are available, but I know that highly productive vegetable gardens are not dependent on improving the soil with organic material. Another side benefit is that we have been able to avoid any insect or disease infestations (often introduced by compost)in 15 years, and so I never have to use pesticides or herbicides in my large garden. Jim Kennard, President of Food For Everyone Foundation, has a wealth of leadership, financial, business, teaching, and gardening training and experience upon which to draw in helping the Foundation to achieve its goals of “teaching the world to grow food one family at a time.” He is a retired CPA, and has also owned and successfully managed several different businesses, including hotels, shopping centers, apartments, and retail establishments during the past twenty five years. Jim has been a Mittleider gardener for the past twenty-eight years; he is a Master Mittleider Gardening Instructor, and has taught classes and worked one-on-one with Dr. Jacob Mittleider on several gardening projects in the USA and abroad. You can get his advice in vegetable gardening questions by visiting the FAQ section of the Foundation’s web page at http://foodforeveryone.org/faq/. Weight Loss - How I Lost 38 Pounds

星期日, 十月 28th, 2007

By Jerry Aragon Losing weight is a tough problem for anyone! Statistics show that over 50% of the American people are overweight, and I didn’t want to be part of that club, so I had to lose weight. Plus, I knew that carrying the extra weight was not good for my health. Growing up, I had always been a skinny kid, so weight was never a problem. I was so skinny, that I had to run around in the shower to get wet! (just kidding) I come from a skinny family of four brothers and five sisters, and none of us ever had a weight problem, and neither did my parents, who were of average build. Throughout my adult years, I was always of average build…about six feet tall and 170 pounds, and I kept that weight for many years. During my lifetime, I have never been a heavy eater, either. But, for a few weeks, I noticed something was not right with me. I did not feel right. I felt listless; overweight; bloated; not sleeping well; and just plain awful, etc. My clothes were not fitting right, and I was a little short-tempered! Something was wrong, and I had to find out what it was. When I found out what was wrong, boy did I get a surprise! One day, I went to see my doctor for my annual physical examination, and I got on the scale to be weighed, and I weighed in at 209 pounds! I was shocked! Forty pounds over what I had always weighed! I was numb! No wonder everything was falling apart on me! I got off the scale, and sank to a new low, and a little depression set in right away! How could this happen? How could I weigh so much? I’ve never weighed this much in my life…not even close! But, 209 pounds! I felt like I had just been hit in the stomach…a very large stomach! There are those who read this article and think that 40 pounds is small potatoes…but, 40 pounds are very large potatoes to me, etc. And yes, a six foot frame would have no problem carrying 209 pounds, but I didn’t want that. As soon as I got off the scale, I knew the weight was coming off…but how? How did I motivate myself? Diabetes: I am extremely afraid of getting diabetes! My aunt and a neighbor who lived next to my parents died of diabetes! And, I worked with a fellow who got diabetes, and went spinning into depression! Clothes/expense: Today, (2006) clothes are expensive, and I was NOT going to start buying new clothes that fit…not on your life! And, then what’s next…buy more new clothes as I got bigger and bigger and bigger? No thanks! The thought of buying new clothes motivated, in part, to take some serious action, and I knew a big challenge lie ahead! I was determined to lose 40 pounds no matter what! It would be my top priority, and I didn’t care if it took a year, two years or three years! But, how was I going to lose 40 pounds? When I left the doctor’s office I felt awful. And for the first time, I could sympathize with what overweight people go through. My first stop was to buy a bathroom scale, because I never needed one. And, when I got home, I jumped on it, and sure enough…209 pounds! I knew nothing about weight loss and diets and so forth. I didn’t like the feelings inside of me at all. I perceived that people were going to be looking at me a certain way and calling me names! I was sick! There are millions of books out there on weight loss and diets. I had no idea where to start. First, I had to take a couple of days and think things out as what would be my game plan. I needed a little time to get out of this panic-attack I was in! I got a yellow pad and started scratching down some notes, and I chose to do the following: Attitude: Attitude is everything! I thought attitude could be the most important factor in all this. For, it was attitude that helped me to quit smoking 30 years before. A mix of attitude, discipline, patience, sacrifice…that’s what I wanted in my game plan. If I could quit smoking, with the “mental toughness,” it took to do it…I COULD LOSE 40 POUNDS I was ready to kick some butt…MY very big butt! First, I had to get rid of my cry-baby attitude and self-pity about myself…which is not like me! I knew, over the next several months, I was going to take a healthy dose of agony, and a lot of whining on my part! Patience: The next decision was to be patient from beginning to the end. Losing all this weight is going to take time. There’s NO magic pill; there’s NO magic malt; there’s NO magic dust! Now, that I decided that patience was going to play an important role in my success to lose weight, I could now settle down a little. Aids: The thought of books; pills; malts were out the window! I decided to make my own rules. I would not spend money on all this stuff. If my game plan didn’t work, THEN I would go out and get the help I needed to lose the weight. There are no books, doctors, malts that are going to help unless the person WANTS TO LOSE THE WEIGHT! When I quit smoking, I did it because I WANTED TO…and nothing would stop me! Moderation: Next, came the idea of moderation. I ate everything I ever ate…but, less of it! I decided to cut all portions in HALF! Instead of eating two eggs for breakfast…only one! Instead of eating two slices of pizza…only one! Instead of eating a whole apple…cut it in half and save the other half for a rainy day. Like my mother, I have a sweet tooth, and I love sweet things like candy, pies, cake, and all this would have to be cut in half, too! By doing it this way, I would maintain the quality of life I always enjoyed, only I would now have HALF of what I enjoyed before. In other words, I would have my cake and eat it too! (forget I said that!) Doing it this way, would keep me from going completely crazy…just HALF crazy! Water diet: Several years ago, I heard about a water diet of some sort, but knew nothing about it. Usually parents will not let their kids eat candy or sweet things before a meal, because they will fill up with water and not eat their meal. Makes sense to me. So, I decided to try it. That is, drink a full glass of water before a meal and then I would eat less. A pound a week: The thought of losing 40 pounds was overwhelming to me, and I didn’t like it! So, I decided to get rid of that thought, and I would think of losing a pound a week, which sounded better to me than losing 40 pounds. As you can see, I created my own rules and my own game plan. Since I’m not a rocket scientist, my math told me, it would take about 40 weeks or about 10 months to do the job! That’s okay…it took me about 10 months to quit smoking, and losing weight is every bit as important as quitting smoking! The little train that could was ready to go up the mountain, and I was anxious to get started. I knew I was going to do it, but what I didn’t know, is how long would it take? From the time I implemented my game plan, everything I ate was cut in half, and by the end of the month, I had lost three pounds! Yahoo! I was making progress right away and I was enthusiastic and I had to stay motivated. I thought my game plan was a good one, and each day, I couldn’t wait to get on the bathroom scale, to see if there was any good news. Six weeks after I started, I went under 200 pounds! I was on cloud 9! I would give my game plan about three months, and if there was not much progress, then I would get the help I needed to accomplish my goal, etc. I think I have two big advantages over some people: 1) Walking/jogging: I have been walking/jogging 10-15 miles a week since 1986! And still, in the year 2006, jogging helps me to sweat out the good times, and to stay fit. Jogging helps me to keep the stress out of my life; I sleep better; create better; solve problems better, etc. Once a month, I gave myself a fabulous “pig-out” party, and eat whatever I wanted…Mexican or Chinese food, etc. (That’s because I was doing so good!) But, I would pay the price later…as I would add about five miles to my agenda of jogging to burn out the good times! (boo-hoo!) 2) Quit smoking: I had to use discipline to quit smoking over 30 years ago, and now it would take discipline to get the weight off, etc. But, it took more than discipline. As mentioned earlier, it took sacrifice; determination; dealing with peer-pressure, patience, etc. So, week after week and month after month, I stayed with my game plan. A pound lost here, and a pound lost there, and I was on track. My attitude was the most important part of this whole operation. I know I can…I know I can…it was only a matter of time before I won the battle. But, it was a roller-coaster from the beginning. At the six month mark, I was down to 185 pounds, and I was on cloud 42! Up and down…up and down…up and down…I would lose three pounds and gain four! The toughest part was to get down below 180 pounds! It took me THREE MONTHS to do it…up and down…182 pounds…down to 178 pounds…up to 185 pounds…down to 179 pounds and so forth. It was driving me crazy…sorry…HALF CRAZY! FINALLY, I got down BELOW 180 pounds, and I couldn’t be more HAPPY AND PROUD! Yahoo! I was on cloud 67! this was about nine months into the mission, and I had a little more work to do to get down to 170 pounds. But, I always knew I would do it! Yahoo! The little train that could…a pound a week…40 weeks and 40 pounds have gone bye-bye! When I went back for a physical the following year, my doctor said to me, “You’ve lost a lot of weight over the past year, Jerry. Have you been ill, or did you lose the weight intentionally?” I JUST SMILED, and gave my doctor a “high-five!” YAHOO! * * * The weight was lost in the year 2000, and as of the year 2006, I still weigh 165-170 pounds. In my view, I think I have not gained the weight back because of patience. It took a long time to lose the weight, and the body adjusted. Today, we live in a fast-paced society, and people don’t have patience. People today want everything YESTERDAY! There’s NO easy answer…there’s no easy way…there’s no magic dust! A person just has to suck it up…get that “mental toughness,” that’s essential…AND, JUST DO IT! UPDATE: As of election day 2006 (November 7, 2006), I still weigh 170 pounds, and all that cutting portions in half did it for me, as I still do it over four years after losing the weight. MY TWO CENTS/Update; January 15, 2007 As a novice in writing, I think this is an amazing story about this piece, Weight Loss: How I Lost 38 Pounds. I wrote the piece on August 4, 2006, and it was one of my first articles I posted on Ezine Articles.com. Over the next 2-3 weeks, the piece was going nowhere…stagnant…not many hits/views…stuck at the bottom of the ocean! Over the next month, I did what I could for the “basket case” so there was nothing more I could do for the patient. All I could do, was to watch it die on the vine! All the other articles I wrote during this time, would pass Weight Loss: How I Lost 38 Pounds and kick sand in its face! It was my 97 pound weakling…my little basket case! And, then in September, (2006) sometime, the piece started to move out of the basement and show some life! Needless to say, I was happy about this. It started to take baby steps on its move up the ladder of my article list! Ever so slowly, it continued to move up! Week after week, I kept an eye on it as it moved upward, and by November, 2006, it had reached the top ten of my portfolio of articles! I was amazed! And then it happened in December, 2006, as it continued to march up the list, and on December 28, 2006, it took the lead (456 views) and knocked SOS! My Serious and Silly Articles from the TOP SPOT! It took nearly five months to get to the top! Amazing! YAHOO! UPDATE: 1/22/07: This piece has taken a 155 point (hit) lead over my second place article, and is

Dating Services

星期六, 十月 27th, 2007

By Richard Romando The concept of dating services is nothing new; it has a history of its own. Dating services have been of different varieties: first, there is the community dating service; second, the video dating service; third, the television dating game; and fourth, the online dating service. The community dating services make use of newspapers and community newsletters for posting their advertisements. This would require that the clients go to their office to avail themselves of the service. Such ads, being short, give just the basic information about the client. Though such services have the advantage that they ensure the matching of different profiles, their biggest drawback is that they do not reach very far. Their services remain limited to the circulation of the paper. Also, their matchmaking services cannot be considered very helpful because of the inadequate information in the profiles. An offshoot of the community newsletter media, the video dating service involves users making a short personal video for the purpose of presenting themselves to prospective mates. Along with giving information about themselves, the video covers their expectations about the person they wish to meet. The match seekers produce the video on their own or use the agencys office for shooting their footage. The videos are placed in a library, which enables the users to see them so that they can check out their potential mates. The television dating game became quite popular during the 1990s. It basically involves one person, who is the searcher (male or female), and three people of the opposite sex, who are the aspirants. The aspirants have to try to answer, as candidly and honestly as possible, a set of questions which the searcher has ready. The searcher makes the choice based on how well the prospective mate answered. The catch of this game is that, usually, neither party knows what the other person looks like, as they are separated by a curtain or a cover. Of course, the latest in the line seems to be online dating service, which is a combination of all the three mentioned above. A relatively more informative profile can be posted, complete with photo. It is also possible to upload videos that show the searchers at their best. Dating Services provides detailed information on Dating Services, Online Dating Services, Christian Dating Services, Free Dating Services and more. Dating Services is affiliated with Gay Dating Personals. I Love Him But I’m Not Turned on to Him

星期五, 十月 26th, 2007

By Margaret Paul, Ph.D. Erin married Dylan because he was the first man who expressed his love for her and was really nice to her. She was not sexually turned on to him, but she figured that this would come in time. Now, 15 years later, sex is a huge problem in their relationship. Erin sought me for counseling due to this issue. I love Dylan. He is my best friend. I enjoy being with him and doing things with him. But the sex issue is causing too many arguments. I end up feeling guilty because I dont want to make love with him. Is there something wrong with me? Erin, are you ever attracted to Dylan? There have been a few times when I was really attracted to him and sex was wonderful. What was going on at those times? Those were times when Dylan stopped pulling on me to have sex with him and make him happy and seemed to be happy within himself. Most of the time, he is unhappy because of the sex issue. I just dont feel attracted to him when he seems so needy. Yes, this is the issue. Women are attracted to a man when he is in his power feeling good about himself - not when he is coming to you like a needy little boy wanting you to have sex with him to make him feel okay about himself. If he needs sex to feel good, then he is using you and sex addictively, and this will always make you feel used. Most women are not attracted to little boys, and when he is in a needy place, he is like a little boy rather than a strong man. Yes, that is exactly the problem! So there is nothing wrong with me for not being attracted to him when he is needy! What a relief! Is Dylan open to doing his inner work to heal his neediness? I dont know but I dont think so. He refuses to go to counseling with me. Erin, the way you can start to heal this issue is to stop feeling guilty and responsible for Dylan and start to take care of yourself by telling your truth. When he is needy and pulling on you for sex, you would need to say to him, I am attracted to you when you feel good about yourself, not when you are needy and wanting me to make you okay by having sex. But I am afraid of hurting his feelings if I say that. You are taking responsible for his feelings rather than taking loving care of yourself. As long as you believe you are responsible for his feelings instead of yours, you will not be able to heal this. Dylan will not address this issue until you are willing to tell your truth. You are not responsible for how he responds. He can choose to be hurt, or he can choose to be open and curious and learn about what you are talking about and how to begin to move into his power. But what do I do if he is hurt and angry? How do you feel about being with him when he is hurt and angry? I dont like it. Then say that. Say I dont like being with you when you are hurt and angry. Let me know when you are open so we can talk about this. Then disengage by doing something else reading a book, going for a walk, calling a friend. Oh, he will be so angry if I dont stay and talk about his hurt and anger! Erin, notice that you are wanting to control how he feels rather than take responsibility for yourself. This is your end of this codependent system. He is trying to control you into having sex with him and taking responsibility for his feelings, and you are trying to control him by caretaking him. Until you are ready to let go of control over his feelings and take loving care of yourself, nothing will change or heal. Erin is working hard to learn to let go of trying to control Dylans feelings and take responsibility for herself. In our last session, she told me that she is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel that she felt herself really attracted to Dylan for the first time in a long time. Tips On How To Get Affordable Cosmetic Surgery

星期四, 十月 25th, 2007

By Sandy Sizemore It can be quite challenging to understand the various cosmetic surgery costs. It seems outrageous what we have to pay to look great, but when you take a closer look at what goes into determining what those costs are, you will have a better idea of why you have to pay what you do. The fact is that today, many of us pay a large amount of money for funding that dream look that we really have to have and it is money that is well spent. Cosmetic surgery costs range in what they are as well. For example, one person’s tummy tuck is not the same price as someone else’s. That is because it takes a great deal of effort to determine what the cost for a tummy tuck is. This is often a consideration that you and your doctor will need to make. For example, the full body tummy tuck will cost a great deal more than a smaller, mini tummy tuck. It is less invasive, poses less risk and it provides for a higher level of cost effectiveness to the doctor. These things all play a role in what the tummy tuck cost will be. What’s more is that cosmetic surgery costs are often not covered by your medical insurance. This is something that you need to take into consideration when visiting your doctor’s office as well. You should insure that you determine if they will cover anything from the doctor’s fees, to your hospital stay to your medications afterwards. Contact your insurance provider to find that information out. One thing that can be actually helpful when considering the cosmetic surgery costs is that some doctors are now providing for financing to help you to pay off the costs. That means that you can have the surgery done and you will be able to defer the costs through monthly installment amounts. Of course, this is something that only some doctors do and what they do is generally offered specifically to individuals that have a decent credit score. If you will be considering this option, consider looking for credit cards that may offer a lower interest rate. It is unlikely that you will find this, but you may. The cosmetic surgery costs that you are charged are directly related to your own individual care. It is not something that you can have the same as with one individual as another. To determine what those costs will actually be, you will need to talk to your doctor about it in person. You should also tell him or her about any situations that may not provide you with the ability to pay the doctor at once and it is possible that a payment arrangement may be set up. Ever Wonder What Can Blow Up And Wreck Your Love?

星期三, 十月 24th, 2007

By Melody C Not many people know about the hidden power struggles that
can occur in a relationship or marriage. This article is
about a hidden powerstruggle known as rhythms. Every person
has their own unique rhythm whether that is how they eat,
sleep, work, relax, or even think and breathe. However, in our society, we have been taught to assume to
everyone is alike, or that there is a specific way that
everyone needs to go about their day in order to strive and
be successful. This can cause a powerstruggle in a
relationship in two ways. 1) Each partner will think that the other person has the
same rhythm as them, so if they are not doing things the
same way as them they are either doing things wrong or
intentially trying to resist them. 2) If the partners are trying to copy the other persons
rhythm, it will be not in their highest and best interest.
They will not be productive or be in a healthy lifestyle
for the individual, which leads to powerstruggles anyway. This article is to bring attention to some of the less well
known types of rhythms in a relationship.
Our first is what I will call a task accomplishment rhythm.
In our work, we teach individuals and couples something
similar called workstyles which are ways how people like to
carry out their work or activities such as Guideline people
who need a basic guideline or structure 24 hours a day or
Employee people who like to go by other peoples rules for a
certain portion of the day, then the rest of the time they
go by their own rules. For task accomplishment rhythms, I will use Rob, my Life
Partner (who is also the Director/Counsellor for the Life
Management Centre/ LMC Relationship Centre and Co-author of
Love by Design) and myself as an example. When Rob is accomplishing tasks throughout his day, he likes
to do a whole bunch of tasks, one after the other, nonstop
without any breaks. Then stop for the day. I on the other
hand, although having an Employee Workstyle, while I am
actually working for or with the other person, like to work
for a while, take a break, work for a while, take a break
etc. In the beginning of our relationship, there was an
unconscious powerstruggle, mostly felt by me because I
couldnt keep up the same momentum as Rob, especially if we
had been out shopping or in public, I would have to have
rest and recoup before I could charge into the next task at
hand. I would get really tired and uncomfortable, and Rob
would feel my resistance. That didnt last for long though, as soon as I recognized
that my rhythm was different than Robs, I brought it to his
attention. I accepted that my rhythm is different than his
and he has incorporated my rhythm into his schedule, so I
can rest in peace, and then join him again in our tasks. The
good news is that I was just as productive as Rob, as long
as I kept true to myself and my rhythm. Another example of a rhythm is that people have different
speech patterns, speed and rhythms. Rob had a couple come in
to see him once, were the couple was having a communication
problem. The wife talked a mile a minute; the husband talked very
slowly and paused a lot when talking. The wife often cut him
off, between pauses, the husband often feeling offended by
being interrupted all the time and the wife always felt like
they werent getting anywhere in their communication. Would
you believe the powerstruggle was there simply because they
werent aware that they had different speaking rhythms? As
soon as Rob pointed this out to them, and taught them how to
understand, appreciate and not be in nonresistance to their
rhythm their communication greatly improved. The wife,
especially learned to be aware of the husbands pause, and
that the pause didnt mean he was finished talking. There are many other types of rhythms out there that will be
unique to you and to you partner. Your assignment, if you
choose to accept it, is to be aware of your feelings. If you
ever feel like you are in resistance to your partner, such
as feeling angry, a drop of energy or the need to dig your
heels in, be on the look out and feel out for a
potential rhythm that may be different. Next, bring you partner into awareness, then accept, and
appreciate both your partners and your own unique rhythms.
With acceptance, nonresistance and being authentic, you will
find that not only will the resistance fade away, both of
your fill be at you fullest, and highest and best capacity
in all areas of your lives. Melody Chase is the co-author of “The Ultimate Love By Design Relationship -

Paralegal How to Get Certified

星期二, 十月 23rd, 2007

By Linda Moore In todays economy everyone is looking for a way to get the advantage over other job seekers, looking for a career that is almost recession proof. Fortunately, there is one profession that is never going to fade away, and that is lawyers. While the though of going to school and becoming a lawyer may not thrill you, becoming a paralegal might. A paralegal does work that is delegated to them by a lawyer that they are working with. They can do some of the same tasks that a lawyer can do, but may not have time for. They cannot however, present a case in court or give any legal advice of any type. What paralegals are able to do is, to help the lawyer prepare for trials, hearings, closings and meetings. They help by investigating any facts that are pertinent to a case and making sure that the lawyer has any information that is needed as a case is prepared. This type of work includes gathering information regarding laws, judgments or other such materials that the lawyer might need to do try a case effectively. They make sure that the lawyer has every bit of information with in hands reach. Paralegal education is generally the completion of an associates degree from either a local school or an online paralegal course. While most paralegal education will stop after the associates degree is accomplished, there are some institutions that offer a bachelors and even a masters degree in this field. If you are in the process of deciding which course to take to become a paralegal, it is wise to pick a program that is endorsed by the American Bar Association (ABA). The ABA endorses approximately 250 of the more than 600 programs that exist to train people in the paralegal profession. Many programs have internships available; it would be wise to take advantage of this program. This will allow you to get a hands on feel for the work that a paralegal does along side a lawyer. Look, too for a program that offers job placement, this shows that they believe in their graduates and stand behind their knowledge. After the paralegal studies are completed and you have your paralegal certificate, it would be a good idea to pursue certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants. Most employers will not require this; it will make you stand out from other applicants. The Association has a set of standards that have been established for the 2-day course that tells potential employers that you are indeed a professional. As with any profession that you are considering, it is important to do extensive research before starting the course of study to become a paralegal. Talk to people in the position and ask lots of questions. However, if you choose this path for yourself, you have the chance to accomplish two things. One, you will have a positon that will always be in demand and you will be able to put your knowledge of the law to use helping people. Good luck. Wholesale Bird Feeders

星期一, 十月 22nd, 2007

By Ross Bainbridge Feeding the birds can be satisfying. You love to watch the creatures as they feed. You start to notice their patterns. You love feeding the birds so much that you keep on installing new bird feeders. This gets expensive, so you are considering buying wholesale bird feeders to help save money. Buying wholesale bird feeders doesn’t necessarily mean that the feeders you find will be low quality. You can find wholesale bird feeders in the form of small houses, angel shapes, and other interesting items. You can also find simple, yet decorative, wholesale bird feeders. When you buy a bird feeder wholesale, it usually just means that you get it for less than the retail price. So how do you find wholesale bird feeders? The best place to look is online. There are plenty of bird feeder wholesalers who offer elegant yet inexpensive choices. There is such a wide variety that all you need to do is buy the feeders that suit your personality and landscaping tastes. Once you find your wholesale bird feeders, how do you decide where to put them? That is a matter of taste. The only requirement is that it should be higher up. This is both for the birds and to dissuade any other critters from taking the food. A lot of people love to put the feeder by a favorite window so that while they are relaxing, they can watch the birds. Some critters are really crafty and can cause problems for your wholesale bird feeders. Some companies sell products that are designed to help prevent them from getting at the bird food. These may or may not work, depending on how smart the animal is. You love the satisfaction you get when you see birds use your wholesale bird feeders. It is fun to watch them take turns. Some bird groups even seem to have a specific routine. Bird feeding is fun, and the right feeders help even more. Bird Feeders provides detailed information on Bird Feeders, Humming Bird Feeders, Wooden Bird Feeders, Homemade Bird Feeders and more. Bird Feeders is affiliated with Large Bird Cages.
